Trace Heating Products
Trace and Surface Heating
Trace and surface heating cable is used to provide heating or to compensate for heat loss in pipework, tanks, process vessels and a variety of other applications, with cold temperature and frost protection of external pipework systems typical examples of its use. Trace and surface heating can be utilised for hot water temperature maintenance in both industrial and commercial buildings and for under floor heating applications. Thermotrace uk also offer electrically heated pads and jackets that can be designed and configured for applications such as tank and drum heating, satelite dish heaters and process plant applications.
Constant Wattage tape
Consisting of a spiral heating element wound onto an inner core of silicone rubber insulation carrying the two main bus-wires, the heating element is connected to alternate bus-wires at intervals of 1m to provide parallel heat zones and the element, for extra protection, has a sheathed silicone rubber earth screen braid. The outer sheath contains notches indicating where the element and bus-wires are connected and acts as a cutting length guide to meet installation requirements.
Self-Limiting Heater Tape
Utilising a special core material between bus-wire conductors, self-limiting heater tape has a composition that varies inversely with temperature, ensuring maximum heating is applied at cold spots and power consumption is minimised in areas that require little heating. Being over sheathed in Polyolefin helps self-limiting tape gain extra insulation and mechanical protection, and being less flexible than constant wattage type is generally rated at lower temperature.
Hazardous Area Tape
Thermotrace uk can supply hazardous area heating tape (available in 110v and 240v ratings) designed for use in all hazardous areas and for use with industry approved thermostats.
Heater Pads and Flexible Heating Jackets
For use in general tank heating and similar applications, Thermotrace uk offers heater pads and jackets that incorporate F.E.P. insulated elements that are pressure heat bonded with layers of impregnated glass cloth that can be used in applications at temperatures of up to 400˚c and provide a close fit around valves and ports in all domestic plant configurations.
